One of the people I forgot to mention (I tried taking Ginkgo biloba for my memory but I could never remember to take it) in my BlogHer recap was Kirsten Piccini of The Kir Corner. I’d been reading Kir for a while and met her in person for the first time earlier this year at Bloggy Boot Camp. That meeting is what made me go into her archives, though, farther back than when I’d first found her. What I read sealed it: Kir is one you want to add to your reader if for nothing else than this part of her bio:
“When you add celebrating other proud mommies, bringing a voice to infertility and battling fibromyalgia while enjoying too much television, shopping, books and traveling you have a comfy space where I’m always happy to invite friends in to visit.”
A month or so ago, I was having the day from hell. Daycare was becoming a nightmare and I tweeted something about being angry enough to fight (Kir had said something similar a few days before and I offered her support). She returned the favor and at BlogHer this year, one of the highlights was catching up with Kir to discuss my words that day in more detail. Let’s just say that conversation ended in tequila, tears and stomach pains from laughing, and the promise of heels connecting with the foreheads of deserving people. Also, she has great taste in shoes.
I’m in Kir’s “corner” today talking about a Proud Mommy Moment, one of the remarkable, feel good things you’ll find on her site. I hope you’ll head over there to see what I’ve written, but I hope even more that you’ll stay a while longer reading about Kir. You’ll be so glad you found her. You’re welcome.

well my friend, I wasn’t crying yet today…what with Vacation and new shoes looming, but the tears are fast and steady now.
I love you…for a million reasons, but these words to me were the best gift of today.
THANK YOU…and you make sure we get together soon, I’ll be stalking you until we do.
